Diana Jipa

Violinist Diana Jipa has earned, for over 20 years, a well-deserved place in the elite of Romanian performing arts. The consistency of her talent and musical qualities were confirmed early on, obtaining the most important prizes of national competitions and debuting as a soloist at the age of only 10 with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Braşov. In a short time she became a constant presence on the concert stages in Romania, performing alongside most of the philharmonic orchestras in the country and presenting concerts and recitals abroad, in the UK, Chile, New Zealand, Spain, Australia, Peru, Belgium, Czech Republic, South Korea, China, Cuba, Switzerland, France, Greece, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Morocco, Mexico, Norway, Netherlands, Poland , Republic of Moldova, Russia, Sweden, Qatar, Ukraine. In recognition of the notoriety acquired by the entire young generation of Romanian musicians, Diana was appointed to represent Romania in the concert organized in Brussels, in 2007, on the occasion of the signing of the Treaty of Accession of Romania and Bulgaria to the European Union.

Diana Jipa was present on the stages of important music festivals, including the “George Enescu” International Festival – the 18th edition, together with the “Moldova” Philharmonic from Iași and the 7th edition of the “Paganiniana” Festival from Genoa, dedicated to the exploration of the relationship between music, science and cutting-edge technology and which involved the approach, by the young Romanian violinist, of both the classical violin and the experimental instrument “iperviolino”.

For the last few years, the field of chamber music has given Diana Jipa even more notoriety, creating, together with the pianist Ștefan Doniga, one of the most active and appreciated duos in current Romanian music. The two young performers focused on the promotion of local musical creation, peforming over 500 concerts and recitals in 30 countries on 6 continents and over 50 cities in Romania between 2018 and 2024. During all this time they initiated and organized, with the support of the most important public cultural institutions in Romania, about 20 cultural projects, national and international tours and series of events. The results of these artistic endeavors meant the publication of 2 compact discs made in partnership with the Romanian Broadcasting Society and over 100 audio-video materials, from music videos to feature-length music documentaries, which totaled, in the online environment, over 6,000. 000 views. Starting in 2020, composers such as Adrian Iorgulescu, Viorel Munteanu, Șerban Nichifor, Ulpiu Vlad, Mihaela Vosganian or the younger Vlad Răzvan Baciu and Roman Vlad have composed works especially for the two musicians.

In the academic field, Diana Jipa graduated from the National University of Music in Bucharest, obtaining her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in the class of the renowned violinist and professor Florin Croitoru and then the title of Doctor of Music for the thesis “Franco-Belgian violinism through the prism of the repertoire of sonatas for violin and piano from the end of the 19th century – the beginning of the 20th century”, under the guidance of Dr. Valentina Sandu Dediu.

Over time, violinist Diana Jipa attended and graduated from training courses supported by masters Ștefan Gheorghiu, Wolfgang Marschner, Nataly M. Fichtengoltz, Petru Munteanu, Alexandru Gavrilovici, Sherban Lupu, Anatoly Resnikovsky, Rudolf Koelman, Isaac Schuldman, Krysztof Wegrzyn, developing a particularly wide repertoire.
